NGSC and Charlotte Mayor

ABOUT US

The specific function and purpose of NGSC is to assist refugee immigrant families, legal citizens and non-citizens within the Charlotte, NC community with the necessary knowledge and tools needed to live and adapt themselves to American society.

Our mission is to address the integration issues and concerns of refugees, asylum seekers and new immigrants by providing basic human needs, education, advocacy programs and services. Our vision is that refugees, asylum seekers and new immigrants residing in the Charlotte Metropolitan Region will have increased access to educational and economic opportunities as well as greater social and cultural integration, leading to enhanced participation in society and an overall improvement in their quality of life.

In a typical quarter, NGSC receives 300 to 500 new clients, most of whom are referred to us by the refugee resettle agencies we partner with. We also establish new client relationships via word-of-mouth and churches as current and former clients inform their friends and family about our services.

Our assistance includes:

  • Providing compassionate, practical and spiritual care for the economically disadvantaged within our society’s cities

  • Empowering families by equipping them with the  knowledge needed to be productive citizens within society and the surrounding area

  • Facilitating new arrivals’ integration into the culture and lifestyle of the city

  • Performing any services authorized under the provisional act, and guidelines of the 501(c)(3) Internal Revenue Code.

The Neighborhood Good Samaritan Center, Inc. (NGSC) is a nonprofit organization and all donations are tax-deductible. NGSC operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the guidelines of the 501(c) (3) Internal Revenue Service code, as amended from time to time.
